Play UNDERWATER HOCKEY. Palm Beach Underwater Hockey has been in existence since 1979. UW hockey, or UWH, also goes by the older name of Octopush in the UK **** NOTICE: West Palm Beach, Florida, underwater hockey practice and workouts are Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 am, and Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:45 pm. Currently cost is $10 per session, but that may change as we assess our numbers and costs. For all but newbies, club dues must be current, and appropriate protective gear (mouthguards and ear protection) are mandatory for all.

Click on the 4-on-4 Tournament link above on the left. This year, 2008, the tournament was held at the Jacobs Aquatic Center in Key Largo, March 15 and 16. Players said it was a really good tournament and people liked the location in the Keys. Underwater Hockey dramatically improves one's snorkeling and scuba skills and overall level of comfort in the water. New players are always welcome. Bring mask, snorkel, and fins. Take note though, that in Florida there may be squalls and small rain and thunder and lightning storms moving about. Sometimes lightning keeps us out of the water, but most of the time the lightning goes away and we do play, maybe starting late. And the pool is always warm, rain or shine. Gainesville Underwater Hockey hosted the 2008 USA Underwater Hockey Nationals July 25, 26, and 27, in Gainesville, Florida. Palm Beach Underwater Hockey came in 8th this year.
