| Sadly, I sold this car on 5-12-03. |
Sadly, I sold this car on 5-12-03, and it went to San Antonio TX. In spite of having sold the car, I would still like to thank all those who helped me with car while I owned it, without whom the car would not have been possible.
First, I'd like to thank Dennis and Derek Bailey of BB+T Racing and Machine for selling me this rolling chassis after retiring it from NMRA Pro 5.0 competition after a 5th place points finish in the 2000 season. If not for all the great deals on parts and machine work they have provided, this project would not have been possible. Also, congrats to them on the new drag radial national speed record with a 7.70@189mph in Orlando in their 95 Cobra on P325/R15 Mickey Thompson drag radials with a 106mm turbo on stock rear suspension. Check them out for great deals on virtually everything you need to build your street or racing Mustang.
Special thanks to my neighbor and best friend Dean Fisher and his son Mark. If it hadn't been for those two guys and their own pursuit of quickness with their black (edit; now charcoal gray metalic) D3R ProCharged 91GT, I'd have never gotten back into drag racing. They have invited me to races with them, and involved me with their car as a mechanic, occasional driver, and advisor. They have been the best of friends to me. I've posted a shot of us together in one of my photo albums, as well as several albums of their car and a dedicated a page of this site to them and their car. They keep my "need for speed" burning. Also thanks goes out to my former girl friend, Misty Landreth, who's purchase of my former daily driver 406 powered 79 Z-28 (which had sat dormant for 8 years) made the purchase of this car possible.
Special thanks to Brian Tooley of Total Engine Airflow who was kind enough to work a nice deal with me on the porting a machine work on my TFS R heads. There are few individuals in the performance market these days who take a personal interest in helping their customers reach their performance goals. Brian Tooley is certainly an individual who belongs on that short list. Not only was Brian very personable, but he does the most awesome cylinder head port work in the business. I had no idea until talking with Brian personally the flow numbers that were possible from a TFS R. GREAT job Brian!! Kudos to TEA for their awesome work (Edit: I have since sold these heads to Mark and Dean and they are currently racing them on their car).

| My son Michael sitting in "the hot seat." |
If there is a single person to whom I owe the greatest debt of gratitude it would be Mike Lowe. Mike is a Mechanical Engineer, long time hot rodder and part time street rod builder through is shop "Low Boyz" and a great friend. Mike is probably the most creative and skilled fabricator that I've ever seen, read about or heard of. He's had more than one street rod he's built win best of show and best engineered. For anyone aquainted with street rods, that's no small feat. The whole culture is populated by guys who's pictures are beside the word "perfectionist" in the dictionary. At the moment Mike builds experimental aircraft for his primary income and is building one for Greg Moser of Moser Engineering as we speak. (edit-sadly, Greg, his wife, his partner and his wife were killed in a plane crash before Mike could finish Greg's new airplane). Mike took on the task of redoing my car in a trade for some parts he needed for his roots blown BBC 32 Ford street rod. He ended up biting off much more than he originally thought.
Mike made a false firewall for the mid plate to bolt to, which is attached to the factory firewall, sectioned the front control arms 1.75" on each side to get the front wheels under the car, fitted the mid plate and motor plate with the engine in the lowest and most rearward possition considered legal, installed the Comp Engineering steering column, custom made the steering knuckle from parts of two knuckles, made the alum dash plate, made the SUPER TRICK alum carb tray that is attached to the 5" cowl hood and mates perfectly to the King Demon carb and fabricated the unique braided steel throttle linkage. He also custom cut and bound the carpet, mounted the Kirky seats, fabricated the trans mount for the glide, and built/welded, aligned and installed/welded the Alston anti roll bar and wish bone locator on the rear suspension. I know I'm forgetting something else he's done, but you get the picture. There's no way to convey the artistry, perfectionism and creative nature of this unique individual. Thank you Mike from the bottom of my heart!
