This site is dedicated to the loving Mata-Jones Family Photo left to right: Hilliary Jones (10),Brett Jones(13,Jarret Jones(11), Veronica Mata(9)
Jarret and Hilliary both have a very rare genetic disorder called Batten Disease. This is a disease that over time affects children with mental impairment, worsening seizures, and progressive loss of sight and motor skills. Eventually, children with Juvenile Batten Disease become blind, bedridden, and unable to communicate.
Jarret and Hilliary are both blind and have seizures. Jarret recently had a gastrostomy tube placed for medication but also used occasionally for nutrition.
A quote that was sent to me by my daughter, but is so appropriate with our love for Hilliary and JJ: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." -Author Unknown
